Despite the Labor Day vacation, it was business as usual Monday for Mirror Image, a new car detailing company in Marion.

Co-owners Doug Copenhagen and Antonio “TJ” Rivera detailed a 2015 Ford F-150 in their new store at 126 N. 1st St.

The owner of the truck needed the work to be done urgently but was unable to get it done on Saturday or Sunday, Copenhagen said.

The couple moved their business on September 1 from their old location in Hillsboro, where they had operated for two years, and began working in Marion.

“I made them in my garage in Hillsboro,” Copenhagen said.

The new location is easily located across the 1st St. from Webster Auto Service.

They had considered buying a house in Peabody, demolishing it, and setting up their store there, but when the people of Marion learned that business owners were looking for a location, they opened doors for them.

City worker Margo Yates contacted Kevin Burkholder, who owns the building where Mirror Image now operates.

Copenhagen and Rivera said they appreciated the hospital treatment they received at Marion. In return, they will be delighted to participate in community activities.

“Our main goal is to give people a good job at a reasonable cost,” Copenhagen said.

Car detailing can cost up to $ 400, but “not everyone is a doctor or a lawyer,” Rivera said.

Men offer a special rate of $ 85 indoors or $ 125 indoors and outdoors.

“We just love what we’re doing and it helps people,” Copenhagen said.

Not only are the men part owners, they are best friends.

“When you work with your best friend, it’s not like working,” Rivera said.

If a car is leaking oil or needs tires, they refer it to auto or tire repair shops.

The company is open Monday to Friday and Saturday by appointment.
