LIMA – Stephen L. Shaffer, 51, died at 6:59 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Mercy Health St. Rita Medical Center. Stephen was born July 30, 1970 in Lima, Ohio, to L. Roger Shaffer and Carol (Stockton) Briggs.
Stephen graduated from Shawnee High School in 1988. He worked in sales and repair in the appliance industry and then in safety for Allied Services at Ford Motor Company. He was such a cheerful person, had a great sense of humor and a very infectious laugh. He loved to play games, be they board, card or computer. He was also a movie buff and loved sitcoms.
He is survived by his mother, Carol (James) Briggs of Spencerville, OH; brother, Aaron (Lindsey) Shaffer of Lebanon; half-brother, Justen (Anna) Briggs; nephew, Konner Briggs; and niece, Jasemine Briggs.
He was predeceased by his father, L. Roger Shaffer; paternal grandparents, Lewis and LaVere Shaffer; maternal grandparents, Karl and Vera Stockton; and special aunt, Janell Stockton.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home. The funeral will follow at 5:00 p.m. Pastor Al Elmore will officiate.
