How does the Dyson Airwrap work?

First, you use the Airwrap on damp hair – there’s a blow-dry attachment if you don’t have time to air-dry, though. I have lots of volume and crazy curls, and I’ve never been good with a curling iron, so I was skeptical about how this was going to turn out.

The hardest part is figuring out which side of the accessory your hair should be on, but you’ll know if it’s right because the Airwrap will simply wrap your hair around the accessory with very little effort from your go. I turn the Airwrap off after each loop is set to ensure there is no pulling or tangling, and the Airwrap’s fan does much of the work for you.

I have found that for my curls, going straight to the long barrel tool always leaves curls at my hairline. In order to achieve the look I want, I have to start with the small, firm brush attachment at my root to the middle of the shaft, then come back with the long barrel attachment. With a little hairspray, my curls last all day.

Does the Dyson Airwrap save time?

Blow-drying and straightening my hair took me 30 minutes, and there was no way I could ever successfully curl it. But the Dyson Airwrap will now dry and style my hair in 15-20 minutes. During this time, I can choose to curl it, straighten it, or have beachy waves.

Can you use Dyson Airwrap on wet hair?

Yes! The Dyson Airwrap includes a hair dryer attachment to help you dry your hair 50-60%, and I try to dry it until my hair is damp, then change the attachment I want it with comb. Styling your hair with the straightening and curling attachments will completely dry your hair. I have found that if you style while your hair is damp, it helps to keep the style longer.

Will the curls remain from the Dyson Airwrap?

My curls last all day and I’ve tried the Airwrap on friends who have a harder time keeping curls in their hair. The trick is to set the style by using the accessories slowly so your hair has time to warm up to the touch. My biggest mistake was going too fast with the ties which caused the loop to not hold. The trick is to take your time and hairspray afterwards.

So, is the Dyson Airwrap worth it?

My vote is YES. I’ve only had the Airwrap for a short time, but I’m really impressed.

Is the Dyson Airwrap noisy?

It could be the switch from using a quiet straightener to using a hair dryer for all your styling, so I thought that was loud. But not as strong as Revlon One-Step Hair Dryerwhat scared me dogs every time I used it.
