Brentford and Watford will have to shell out a hefty fee to land this striker in January

Brentford and watfordThe Jerry Yates-linked Blackpool ace is said to be a wanted man ahead of the January transfer window. The striker has had an impressive start to the season in the Championship.

Football Insider claim the Seasiders are preparing for the interest and value him at around £4million. He has scored eight goals in 16 games in all competitions so far this season.

Brentford It is believed he is keeping tabs on the Yorkshireman at the moment. A report of The sun claimed Thomas Frank’s side are “watching” him with fellow Premier League side AFC Bournemouth. Scottish Premiership side Rangers have been mentioned as potential suitors, as have the Championship duo watford and West Brom.

Yates has been on the Bloomfield Road books since 2020 and has been a key player in the Tangerines ever since. He made 112 appearances in all competitions, with 39 goals and 14 assists. He is under contract with Michael Appleton’s team until June 2024.

He started his career at Rotherham United and played 52 times for their first team as a youngster. He also had loan spells away from the Millers at Harrogate Railway Athletic, Harrogate Town, Carlisle United and Swindon Town before leaving permanently.

Yates is in fine form at the moment and his links with other clubs come as no surprise. He scored a brace last time out against rivals Preston North End.
